Aris' works depict chilling tales for example a child's playroom come to life in a militaristic nightmare, a commentary on the dangers of the US trained and supplied Indonesian army spinning out of control as the Indonesian government continues to lose its feeble grip on the reins of its military. Another fascinating and yet disturbing work portrays an example of futuristic urban planning gone mad with a military base, complete with golf course, built on the backside of a dead soldier floating face down in the ocean.
